metadata
overview
Problem: Potential customers didn’t understand complex metadata problems and how the DART platform solved them.
Solution: I created a presentation which simplified the fundamentals of music metadata and explained why most digital music distribution platforms couldn’t handle complex input, and how the DART platform used A.I. to translate this kind of input into error-free metadata.
Impact: Potential customers became extremely confident in DART.
Modality: This project was designed as an instructor-led presentation, which I also delivered at multiple events.
Media: All graphic elements and animations were created directly in Keynote. I chose to use an extremely simple visual style because I’ve found this approach makes extremely complex subjects much less intimidating to an audience.
Tools: Keynote.

Before DART, extremely complex music metadata had to be entered manually by trained musicologists, in order to be uploaded properly to online stores like iTunes or streaming services like Spotify. Understandably, this method was very time-consuming and costly.
I created a presentation to teach potential customers how the DART platform allowed music artists to upload their music on their own, without the assistance of a musicologist, and how it used AI to convert user-generated input into properly-formatted metadata.
Whereas manual data entry could take weeks or even months, I demonstrated how the DART platform could have an artist’s music live in iTunes in only 3 to 8 minutes, at a cost of merely $40 per album. Needless to say, this was a huge hit.
